DESCRIPTION:The need for blood is nonstop. Blood centers must have a readily available blood supply on our shelves in the event of emergencies.  On Wednesday morning\, May 25\, Carter BloodCare and nine other U.S. blood centers sent several units of O negative blood to South Texas\, and to our colleagues at South Texas Blood & Tissue to fulfill hospital requests.  \n\n\n\nWe provided blood to South Texas as part of our role in the Blood Emergency Readiness Corps. Donating blood is a powerful\, positive way to help others and support our greater community during this horrible crisis in Uvalde. When time is critical\, having blood available is lifesaving.  \n\n\n\nBlood drives are always essential. DESCRIPTION:It is with great pleasure we announce that our Knights of Columbus Council 8157\, which was started in June 1982\, will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary on Saturday\, June 18th\, 2022. \n\n\n\nCorporate Communion Mass at 5:00 PM\n\n\n\nSit in the section of pews close to the windows to the right side of the altar – wear masks. \n\n\n\n40th Anniversary Celebration 6:15 PM\n\n\n\nOur celebration will follow immediately after in the gym at the community center building (no masks required) \n\n\n\nThe evening’s program will include honoring our past and present Clergy and our Past Grand Knights\, all of whom helped shape our council from its start to the present. DESCRIPTION:Wheelchair Drive Sunday\n\n\n\nThe Knights of Columbus of Holy Spirit will hold their first charity Wheelchair Drive campaign on Sunday March 13th\, 2022. We will be soliciting donations for the American Wheelchair Mission\, a non-profit organization with the goal of delivering brand new\, free wheelchairs and mobility aids to physically disabled children\, teens and adults throughout the world. The average price of a wheelchair is $150. Last year the Knights in the Dallas Diocese funded over 1\,000 wheelchairs. \n\n\n\nThe Holy Spirit Knights of Columbus will be taking donations after each Mass this weekend. You can use a credit card\, a check (made payable to American Wheelchair Mission) or cash. If you would like to donate online\, you can do so anytime at www.amwheelchair.org/donate. As you fill out the form\, in the Campaign* field please select “Knights of Columbus” from the drop down options.
